The Colors of Spring

In the fields, gardens, parks and yards brilliant colors of
flowers now catch the eye of the casual wanderer.  They give
reason for one to slow down and enjoy life's simple pleasures.
In the words of the poet Leigh Hunt; "Colors are the smiles of nature."

Let Spring Begin

The Sunken Garden

Flowers, with their delicate petals and vibrant colors are always a welcome sign of Spring.
On a very pleasant afternoon at St. Petersburg's Sunken Garden, with camera in hand, one roamed
the paths through manicured plantings capturing some of this landmark's natural, vibrant beauty.

An ancient sinkhole with a small lake was made into a backyard garden with exotic plants by
a homeowner in the 1920's.  Sitting 15 ft. below street level and with its exotic plantings, it became
a popular roadside attraction thru the 1960's.  Today the city owns and maintains these mid-town
botanical gardens with their alluring tropical plantings and wildlife.

May Flowers ......

Spending a little time at Florida's Botanical Gardens walking the paths, smelling the blossoms,
listening to birds and occasionally following a butterfly, one is removed from the incessant
chatter of the day and becomes caught-up in the tranquil, colorful beauty of Spring.

"The Earth Laughs in Flowers."

Warm sun, the soft splash of a fountain's spray and the call of a nearby songbird.  Relax!  Enjoy!  It's Spring!

A Monarch flutters and perfectly alights on nature's soft petals.

Enjoy! It's Spring!

The vibrant colors of Spring welcome visitors to Florida's Botanical Gardens.
Blossoming tropical foliage, a relaxed, natural setting and the occasional call of
a distant songbird allow one to forget time and enjoy each moment.

Here, in the Tampa Metro Area, a variety of "gardens" showcase palms,
butterflies, tropical fruits, cacti and more while offering an ideal spot for
an escape into a world of natural beauty.  Enjoy!  It's Spring!

Meandering paths traverse nature's wonderland.

Quiet, shaded, the scent of blossoms and a soft Spring breeze
invite one to sit, relax and let the world pass-by.
